Part One, Chapter One

Los Angeles blade runners, Deckard and Holden have been lent to the Kansas City detective unit to help resolve an issue with some liberated replicant factions that are causing trouble in the city. They've been told to meet with Detective Forster and his team in the alley behind 6770 Fortune Avenue.

They arrive at the alley behind 6770 Fortune Ave but find nothing but an old door that hasn't been touched in years. They wonder where the Kansas City detectives are when they hear a voice behind them.

Deckard and Holden turn around to see the source of the voice. It belongs to a man in a wheelchair, accompanied by several bodyguards who are all aiming their weapons at the visiting blade runners.
Deckard-"Who are you?"
Holden-"Where's Forster...the guy we were meeting?"
Duke Titus, the mysterious stranger-"No need to worry, boys. They are at the other end of town, waiting for you. I arranged to meet you here to enlist your aid."

Duke Titus-"I represent a faction of this city which is dedicated to protecting the liberated replicants from the off world colonies. Furthermore, we intend to discover a method of protracting their lives. What I need from you is to help me find the protege of JF Sebastian and Hannibal Chew. His name is Theo Cosmatos and he is here in Kansas City. My people cannot find him and we need him alive. I believe some former Tyrell employees want him dead because of what he knows about their operations on Mars. Many believe that the Tyrell Corporation was responsible for the destruction of Olympus Mons and the 100,000 people who perished in the explosion. With Cosmatos' knowledge, we can help the free replicants, extend their life spans and put an end to corrupt legacy of Eldon Tyrell! You will be paid, of course."
